West Yorkshire Combined Authority

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) works to develop and deliver policies, programmes and services to benefit the people of West Yorkshire. The Combined Authority was formed in 2014 and gained its first Mayor in May 2021.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) is now responsible for the £1 billion  Growth Deal, the £1 billion West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund, and other local, national and European funding.

WYCAs planning influence

From supporting brownfield housing developments to developing large-scale spatial priority areas, WYCA greatly influences planning outcomes in West Yorkshire.

The Economy

WYCA developed a Strategic Economic Plan that sets out its priorities for growth and development.  

Transport

From promoting an integrated transport strategy to supporting local transport projects, WYCA plays a part in shaping West Yorkshire’s transport↗ infrastructure.
